The Storm that Fooled Everyone

For weeks in advance of the Dec. 23 storm, meteorologists                                                                  reported winds up to 50 mph, 6 to 10 inches of snow,  and two whole                                                    days of blizzard-like circumstances. Everyone was scrambling to                                                            change their plans because traveling would be basically impossible.                                                      School was canceled to keep the kids safe. Nothing happened.
Though the storm that was headed for Wisconsin was strong, it all                                                    but disappeared before it hit.  Kenosha got around one inch of snow                                                    and around 25 mph winds. However, temperatures did drop into                                                            single digits temporarily before increasing again.
"There were a lot of things that we were gonna go do in Colorado and I haven't seen my sister and her family since the summer," Michelle Corbett said. "So I was pretty disappointed about that."
With almost 6,000 flights canceled and dangerous roads, thousands of travelers had to push back or even cancel their plans. In Kenosha, the lack of snow caused problems for those expecting to profit from it.
"I was planning on shoveling the driveways in my neighborhood because I knew there was going to be a storm and that's an opportunity to make money, but then there wasn't snow." Collin Erb said. "So it affected me because then I couldn't make any money."
While most of the USA was praying for less snow, some people wished for it. Those wishing in Wisconsin were disappointed.
"I was excited because we were finally getting snow. It was gonna be a white Christmas and we're gonna have a foot of snow so I can go snowboarding and stuff." Erb said. "But then it didn't happen, so I was very disappointed."
Despite the disappointment of some, the weather has always been unpredictable.
“I kind of like storms, just the whole neat part of it.” Christine King said. “You're just never sure quite sure what's going to happen.”
