The Blaze has a website in order to stay connected with out community. It is where people can learn about the staff, school, pop culture, buy a yearbook and so much more. Under my staff profile, you will see the bio I have written, along with some of the work I have done. We keep things interesting for viewers with frequent polls and photos of the week. Students and parents can keep up with school announcements, stories, podcasts and news about the yearbook through our website. Working with my adviser, I am frequently brainstorming new ideas for polls, potential updates and news stories.
Instagram is where we are most consistent with our presence and advertising. I am one of the social media managers for The Blaze Yearbook and Hawk Talk Productions, our yearbook and podcast. With this, I am consistantly posting updates on where people can buy photos, how many books are left for sale, photo of the weeks and so much more. On the left you can see one of the SmugMug update posts I made. I used Canva to design these. On the right you can see a story post that I made. This is for a poll on The Blaze website. You will also see a post I made on the Hawk Talk Productions page when we were hinting at something new.
X is where I posted all of my broadcast related videos. As an assignment when in Syracuse for a Sports Broadcast program, I learned the importance of consistency. They had us make a post almost, if not every day, we were there. Some were more serious and based on actual news, while others were sillier like when my friend completely burnt her croissant.
TikTok is a huge part of society nowadays and is continually growing popularity. To keep up with this, The Blaze Yearbook has made a TikTok account to promote the yearbook. Here we advertise the yearbook, keep people updated with dealines and amount of yearbooks left to preorder. We also keep things fun and interactive by featuring many students around the school and doing light hearted videos. When a fun video comes across my feed, I make sure to save it as an idea for our staff. I am always ready to make an appearance on our TikTok page.
